Thank you very much to Mrs. Vohra who volunteered to come to our classroom and share cultural information about India. We participated in yoga, traditional Indian dance, folk stories and meditation!

Try this money question at home with your family. What will you buy?

We inquired into what the following symbols may mean and there relationship towards each other.

We discovered that the letters stood for;
G = Gallon
Q = Quart
P = Pint
C = Cup
We then experimented to check that the diagram was accurate – are there really 4 Quarts in a Gallon or 2 Pints in a Quart?
Below are photos from our investigation

Thank you to Mercedes mum for sharing with us a traditional dance from Colombia. Watch us dance in the videos below!
I would like to invite anyone who is interested into our classroom to complete an activity, read a story, do a presentation, show pictures or come up with some other creative idea that will give us some insight into ways that you celebrate a particular event in the country you are from. In the past, we have had a PowerPoint about a house-warming gathering, a colored confetti throwing extravaganza after a discussion on the Indian festival of Holi, a reenactment of a traditional Indian wedding, a presentation about festivals of the Philippines and a map showing where each is celebrated and a cooking demonstration for making Anzac biscuits for Australian Veteran’s Day. After learning about major celebrations throughout the world and what planning celebrations entails, our class’s culminating activity for this unit will be to plan our own end-of-year celebration. If you are keen to contribute something, please email me to arrange a time. Many thanks in advance!
